Broad Breasted White Turkey

Broad Breasted White Turkeys are very fast growing double-breasted turkeys, which are used by all commercial turkey growers for the production of turkey meat. They have been intently bred to have wide breasts, rapid growth rate and superior feed conversion. Poults must be fed high protein rations, either Turkey Starter or Game Bird Starter, in order for the bone structure to properly develop, which is necessary to prevent leg weakness and deformities. Because the males have such wide breasts, they are unable to mate naturally; therefore, the hens must be artificially inseminated each week.

Standard weights at maturity are males-45 lbs. and hens-25 lbs.
